Retransmission revenue fees jumped 46.7% in 2010
Broadcasters are relying more on retransmission-consent fees from cable operators and satellite providers to make up for declining ad-sales revenue. Retransmission fees jumped 46.7 percent last year to $1.03 billion, according to Veronis Suhler Stevenson.
