Savannah presses Comcast to build call center and train technicians
Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) officials attended a fourth public meeting this week in Savannah, Georgia, Thursday night, where city officials pressed the cable MSO to build a customer service center there and improve its training for cable technicians and customer service representatives.
After receiving more than 150 complaints in the last year about cable customer service, Savannah grilled Comcast representatives at the public meetings, where subscribers voiced complaints about issues ranging from cable pricing to missed service appointments.
Comcast took the unusual step of sending field trucks and customer service representatives to the meetings. The MSO says it followed some subscribers that voiced complaints at the meeting to their homes to address service issues immediately.
"We are committed to continuously improving the services that we offer and the way we deliver the service," Comcast VP of government affairs Andy Macke told Savannah NBC affiliate WSAV-TV.
