SCTE said its Broadband Premises Installation and Service Guidebook will be the cornerstone of an e-learning course that it plans to unveil soon. The manual costs $119 for SCTE members and $149 for nonmembers.
The 500-page guide covers topics such as cable entry to the premises, terminal devices, connecting customer equipment, troubleshooting, reducing signal impairments and safe work practices. It also includes information about cable industry standards such as MoCA (Multimedia over Coax Alliance).
SCTE is beginning to sell the book as its members gather in Atlanta this week for the annual SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.
