SCTE tops 10,000 attendees at Cable-Tec Expo
The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) said Thursday that it drew more than 10,000 attendees to this week's Cable-Tec Expo in Atlanta, generating a 24 percent increase in attendance compared to last year's convention.
SCTE attributed the increase to an expanded program of educational sessions and technology exhibits. It also saw international attendance jump 21 percent compared to last year's Cable-Tec Expo, which was held in New Orleans.
The attendance gain is significant, considering attendance declines at other trade shows, and travel restrictions that many companies have in place.
Next year's convention, which is expected to draw more executives from consumer electronics companies, will be held in Orlando Fla., from Oct 17-19.
