Singapore to launch nationwide 3D TV trial

Perhaps it's because it's a smaller country or perhaps because it's more daring technology wise, but Singapore isn't going halfway with 3D TV. It's launching a nationwide trial this year that involves the major broadcasters and telcos and at least four different platforms.

The date of the trial has yet to be determined but, once launched, it will last between one and six months and mark the first such effort in the world where a whole country's population is asked to don silly glasses to watch 3D television.
