Synacor powers TV Everywhere launch for Grande Communications
NEW YORK -- Grande Communications said it will launch a TV Everywhere site later this year, relying content supplied by Synacor.
Grande, which counts 125,000 subscribers in Texas, is one of the smallest cable operators to launch a TV Everywhere site. Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA), Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and Charter Communications (Nasdaq: CHTR) have also launched TV Everywhere sites that allow subscribers to access online video from networks in their cable subscriptions.
Synacor, which has also built portals for Charter and smaller cable operators, said Grande will distribute online through MyGrande.net. Its subscribers will also have access to TVE content from sites owned by cable programmers. Synacor and Grande didn't say which networks will be supplying content for the TVE offering.
