Time Warner Cable buys Super Bowl ad to tout multiplatform viewing options for AMC's 'Walking Dead'
The commercial, which will feature the stars from hit AMC series The Walking Dead, will focus on showing how subscribers can access programming on cable TV, video-on-demand, mobile and Internet video platforms. Rather than pay CBS $3.7 million to run its ad nationally, the MSO opted to buy local ad time from local CBS stations and affiliates in markets where it owns cable systems.
It's the second year in a row that the nation's second largest cable MSO will run advertising during the Super Bowl. Last year, Time Warner Cable ran an ad on local NBC stations and affiliates during the Super Bowl to kick off its "Enjoy Better" campaign
