Time Warner Cable grapples with nationwide Internet outage
Millions of Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) high-speed Internet subscribers nationwide lost service Monday morning after the nation's second largest cable MSO suffered an outage. Some subscribers also reported losing phone service.

"We appear to be recovering from a large but brief Internet outage affecting most of our service areas. Please attempt to connect again," Time Warner Cable wrote at about 10 a.m. ET on a Twitter account that is maintained by its customer service team.
New England subscribers also lost phone service, according to a report in The Bangor Daily News. The outage generated coverage in national news outlets, including CNET and PC Magazine.
Time Warner Cable officials didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Monday regarding questions about what caused the outage.
