Touchtv teases cable programming with apps for iPad and LG connected TVs
Touchtv, an Internet video startup backed by Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) CEO Jeff Bezos, unveiled apps Friday for Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone and Samsung connected TV that allow viewers to sample programming from several broadcast and cable networks, including CBS, ESPN, Fox News Channel, NBC, Lifetime and OWN.

Since it is only offering short video clips, Touchtv doesn't yet pose a threat to cable and satellite TV distributors. But if the company is able to strike rights deals to carry full-length episodes, its product could appeal to cable cord cutters.
Touchtv launched an app for Apple's iPad earlier this week. LG says it will integrate Touchtv into its connected TVs during the first quarter.
