Continuing to report surging use of authenticated multiscreen services from pay-TV operators, Adobe said the number of videos started within TV Everywhere apps nearly doubled in Q3, up 108 percent year over year.

Adobe's Q3 2014 U.S. Digital Video Benchmark Report found that unique users of TV Everywhere content increased 34 percent year-over-year during the three-month period ending Sept. 30.

Authenticated videos per customer were also up 39 percent during Q3.

Coordinating its research with A+E Networks, the study found that 22 percent of A+E viewing in Q3 occurred on an OTT device such as a gaming console or streaming box. Half of that OTT viewing took place on Roku devices.

The study also found that iOS mobile devices remain the dominant platform for TV Everywhere consumption, accounting for 56 percent of all authenticated viewing starts.
