Verizon grapples with major LTE outage
Verizon (NYSE: VZ) suffered a nationwide outage of its 4G LTE service on Wednesday, which was its second major outage this month.
The telco--which recently signed deals with Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC), Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA), Cox Communications and Bright House Networks that could see the cable MSOs market 4G and other Verizon products to cable subscribers--didn't disclose what sparked the outage. But the company said that all 4G service had been restored by late Wednesday.
Verizon also suffered an LTE outage on Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 that the company said at the time was caused by a "technical issue."
