Daniel Frankel is the editor of FierceCable. He joined the FierceMarkets staff in May 2014 and is responsible for covering news and trends in the pay-TV section of the telecom industry. Before joining FierceMarkets’ Telecom Group, Daniel served as a senior writer for GigaOm, joining the San Francisco-based technology research and publishing company upon its acquisition of paidContent.org. In this job, Daniel covered the pay-TV industry and the migration of video services to the Internet. Daniel worked on staff at Variety for eight years, covering the home entertainment and television industries. He has also worked in corporate communications, serving clients including IMAX, Lionsgate and The Chernin Group for the boutique PR firm Principal Communications. Daniel is married with two pre-teen sons, and is an active youth sports coach, bicyclist and Mexican food consumer. He’s based near Downtown Los Angeles.
