The updates comes nearly two months after Plex initially unveiled its new live TV feature.

Plex’s relatively new live TV feature has now added support for Apple TV and Android.

The new device compatibility additions join iOS, Android TV and the Plex web app. Apple TV (version 1.14) will now be able to use live TV and Android users will get access to live TV and DVR.

The expanded device lineup arrives as Plex is officially taking its DVR out of beta and adding time-shifting features for live TV. Users can now pause/play, rewind and fast forward live TV.

The updates comes nearly two months after Plex initially unveiled its new live TV feature.

Plex’s live TV service is available at no extra cost for Plex Pass subscribers but users need to buy an antenna and a digital tuner. Plex said Mohu and HD Frequency antennas performed best during the company’s tests of the service.

Digital tuners supported include ATSC (North America), WinTV-dualHD, WinTV-HVR-955Q, WinTV-quadHD, Digital TV for Xbox One, AVerMedia AVerTV Volar Hybrid Q, SiliconDust HDHR (all models), DVB-C/T/T2 TVButler 100TC, WinTV-soloHD and Freeview HD TV for Xbox One.

“Plex has always been about serving up the best possible media experience in one beautiful interface, no matter where you are and what device you’re using. We want to put all of your favorite content right at your fingertips whenever you’re ready to enjoy it,” said Plex CEO Keith Valory in a statement. “Now our Plex Pass users can enjoy free live and recorded TV with local news and sports at no extra cost, and without having to purchase yet another service.”
