Cablevision's (NYSE: CVC) Lightpath subsidiary began marketing a data backup service to businesses in the New York metropolitan area.
The company said Tuesday that its Managed Backup service will offer flat rates on packages that range from 50 Gigabytes to 5,000 terabytes, but it didn't disclose the fees it will charge. Lightpath said its customers will also be able to manage their data and create report logs through an online portal it has built.
Cablevision also sells Ethernet-based high-speed Internet and phone service to customers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut through Lightpath, which recently changed its name from Optimum Lightpath.
