Cablevision (NYSE: CVC) was the fastest major broadband provider in Netflix's (Nasdaq: NFLX) rankings of the fastest ISPs in February, averaging 2.35 Mbps in its delivery of TV shows and movies to Netflix subscribers, the Internet video distributor said Monday.
Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) 1 Gbps fiber service in Kansas City had the fastest speeds, averaging 3.35 Mbps in its delivery of video streams to Netflix customers. Suddenlink Communications placed second, with an average speed of 2.19 Mbps. Netflix said Cox Communications averaged 2.12 Mbps for its Netflix streams, moving up five places in its monthly rankings.
Netflix also launched a new website on Monday that the company said it will use to publish its ISP Speed Index reports.
