Fox News recruits CNN 'Reliable Sources' anchor Howard Kurtz

Fox News Channel said Thursday that it signed veteran CNN anchor Howard Kurtz to host a new version of its weekend program Fox News Watch.

Signing Kurtz is a big coup for Fox News. The former Washington Post reporter has hosted CNN's Reliable Sources program on Sunday mornings since 1998.

Fox said Kurtz will also work as an analyst on a variety of programs throughout the week. In addition, he'll write a regular column for The network said Kurtz will start his new gig on July 1.

"I want to thank CNN for giving me such a prime opportunity over the years and was tempted to continue, but the chance to create a revamped program and establish a strong online presence was too good to pass up," Kurtz said in a prepared statement.
