Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR) has announced the hiring of veteran Cablevision Systems (NYSE: CVC) executive James Nuzzo as executive VP of business planning.
In his new role, Nuzzo will work closely with Charter's field operations, customer care, marketing, network operations, technology and product teams, while reporting to another former Cablevision executive, John Bickham, now Charter COO.
Nuzzo worked at Cablevision for 27 years, most recently as senior executive VP of operations and business planning.
"Jim's extensive background and experience in the cable industry makes him the ideal choice to lead Charter's Business Planning efforts," Bickham said, in a statement. "During his time at Cablevision, Jim was instrumental in building a highly effective business planning organization, and I am confident he will provide Charter the same great leadership."
Nuzzo joins a stready migration of former Cablevision executives to Charter, a list that also includes the April hiring of executive VP Gary Schanman, CMO Jonathan Hargis, executive VP of network operations Scott Webber, executive VP of customer operations Kathleen "Kip" Mayo, executive VP of engineering Jim Blackley and executive VP of government affairs Catherine Bohigian.
And of course, Charter CEO Tom Rutledge served as COO of Cablevision until December 2011.
