New York-based startup NimbleTV said Monday that it will launch a new TV Everywhere solution that will allow cable and satellite TV subscribers to access live and on-demand content available in their cable subscriptions.
NimbleTV boasts that it offers the place-shifting capabilities of EchoStar's (Nasdaq: SATS) Slingbox product, but without requiring an extra set-top. The company hopes to avoid copyright lawsuits sparked by Internet video startup Aereo TV by reaching agreements with pay TV providers.
While Nimble announced that it launched a beta on Monday, the company didn't say which cable MSOs or programmers it has agreements with.
