Time Warner Cable (NYSE: TWC) said it signed a sponsorship deal with professional golfer Ian Poulter, who will don a hat emblazoned with its logo while competing, and appear in TV commercials for the nation's second largest cable MSO.

Poulter plays in both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. He's currently ranked 15th in the world, and has been ranked as high as No. 5.
Time Warner Cable said it will tee up a national ad campaign featuring Poulter to support its "Enjoy Sports Better" promotions. He will also appear at local TWC events. The MSO has increased its investments in marketing its digital cable, phone and high-speed Internet products through sports marketing. Last year, it signed New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz to appear in commercials. In October, it signed a sponsorship deal with NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne.
"We're tremendously pleased to have Ian partner with us in support of our Enjoy Sports Better campaign," TWC EVP of marketing Jeffrey Hirsch said in Wednesday's announcement. "He is widely regarded as one of the best putters in the game and without a doubt will also serve as an important voice for our customers who are passionate about all things golf," he added.
