When it comes to customer satisfaction, cable is still running a distant second to Verizon FiOS and only one cable operator, Bright House Networks, is ahead of AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV and Dish Network, according to a survey conducted by ChangeWave Research and reported by Communications Technology.

Broken down into big pieces, the survey said that 44 percent of "fiber optic TV subscribers" are "very satisfied with their television service provider;" 27 percent feel the same way about satellite and only 14 percent feel that way about cable.

Broken into smaller pieces, FiOS led the very satisfied ranks with a 49 percent rating while Charter Communications pulled up the rear with only 5 percent. Bright House, at 37 percent, pulled up the whole cable curve while Cox and Time Warner (13 percent) and Comcast and Cablevision (12 percent) joined Charter in pulling it down.
