ISPs and media companies took another step toward implementing a new content anti-piracy plan, naming a new executive director and an advisory board to the Center for Copyright Information, a cooperative effort between content owners and ISPs like AT&T, Verizon and Comcast. It could be ready to start implementing its program this summer. The CCI named Jill Lesser its new executive director. Lesser has has served as the deputy director of public policy and director of the Civic Media Project at People for the American Way and as SVP for domestic public policy for AOL Time Warner. She said her focus will be on "education and deterrence, not punishment." Article
