Finding and displaying the right online social video is big business on the computer for Redux. Now the company is hoping to create an even bigger business by taking its technology and modifying it for a bigger screen--a connected TV.

Redux has built a 10-foot user interface to display and navigate through its continuously streamed online videos and is trying to have it embedded on connected TVs. If successful, users with Redux-equipped TVs could navigate through the Internet and find videos from YouTube and Vimeo to display on the big screen.

Redux hopes to emulate the channel searching capabilities of pay TV service providers like cable and is testing a version of its player that works in Google TV Chrome devices. According to CEO David McIntosh, Redux hopes to have the software embedded in connected TVs and other devices from major manufacturers in the near future.
