Senate rejects attempt to overturn FCC net neutrality rules
In a setback for Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and other providers that have fought the FCC's new net neutrality rules, the Senate voted Thursday to keep the commission's rules in place.

While Republicans had fought to overturn the rules, the Senate voted 52-46 to leave the net neutrality rules in place. The House passed a similar vote in April, 240-179.
But with Verizon fighting the FCC rules in federal court, the debate over net neutrality is far from over.
