San Francisco-based developer Yoono built the Social One application that Time Warner Cable is offering to subscribers in beta form. It also allows users to track activity from Google Talk (Nasdaq: GOOG), Yahoo! Messenger (Nasdaq: YHOO), Foursquare, MySpace, Yammer and Roadrunner email on a single screen.

FierceCable first reported in September 2011 that Time Warner Cable had trademarked the Social One brand. While Social One is initially available only as a desktop application, Time Warner may eventually let subscribers access their social networks on TV. According to the trademark application, Time Warner Cable wants the right to use Social One as a brand to provide "access via a global computer network and television to email, instant messaging and social media accounts within a single user interface."

The launch of Social One was disclosed Monday in a blog post from Jolene Wiggins, senior director of audience engagement at Time Warner Cable.
