Women in Cable Telecommunications nears 10,000-member mark

Women in Cable Telecommunications said Friday that it has grown its membership to 9,698, marking the third consecutive year that it surpassed previous records.

The Chantilly, Va.-based association said that membership has increased by 27 percent since 2009. In the last year, WICT said it grew its membership base, which includes executives from cable MSOs, programming networks and technology vendors, by 7 percent.

WICT focuses on leadership and educational programs for its members. Its biggest backers include Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA), Time Warner Cable, (NYSE: TWC) Turner Broadcasting, AMC Networks and Suddenlink Communications.
